Keep2Share offers three distinct ways to upload your files. This flexibility is great because it caters to different needs. Whether you have a small photo or a massive video file, there is a method for you.
1. Browser Upload (The Easiest Method)
This is the “drag and drop” method. It is perfect for beginners.
- How it works: You go to the homepage and drag your file into the upload box. Or, you click “select file” and pick it from your computer.
- Best for: Small files and documents.
- Bonus: You do not even need to be registered to use this for quick sharing!
2. FTP Upload (The Heavy Lifter)
FTP stands for File Transfer Protocol. It sounds complex, but it is the professional way to move data.
- How it works: You need a special program called an FTP client. You also need to create a user account. You select an FTP server (ideally one with a low load) and transfer your files.
- Best for: Very large, heavy files. It is the fastest method for bulk uploads.
- Requirement: Requires some basic computing skills.
3. URL Upload (The Remote Option)
This feature is very clever. It allows you to transfer a file from another website directly to your Keep2Share account.
- How it works: You provide a link to a file that is already online. Keep2Share grabs it and saves it to your storage.
- Best for: When your own internet connection is slow. It uses the server’s speed, not yours.
Organizing Your Data
Once your files are in the cloud, you need to find them. The “Member’s Area” is your command center. It provides a detailed list of everything you have uploaded.
You can see:
- The name of the file.
- The date it was uploaded.
- The actual size of the file.
You can sort these files in ascending or descending order. This makes organization a breeze. If you delete a file by mistake, you can view deleted files to manage them. There is also a search function. This allows you to type in a name and find a specific folder instantly.
